My Z has developed a whining noise coming from the engine bay. I did a full 120k about a month ago and followed the steps shown in the FAQ for the timing belt change. I noticed it recently as the weather has been nice enough to drive with the windows down. It cannot be heard at idle. It cannot be heard when the engine is cold. As you can tell it changes with the RPM's. It cannot be heard with the windows up. It starts at approx. 2500 rpm. I have searched, and read that when the timing belt is too tight, it can be heard and felt throughout the car. In my case, it can only be heard when the windows are down. It does not change when I turn the steering wheel. Any help would be appreciated.
